Her legal areas of expertise and experience include advising both listed and not listed local and international companies, particularly those in the mining and minerals industry, regarding takeovers, mergers and acquisitions.
She has advised on the application and practical implementation of the JSE Listings Requirements and the TRP Codes, as well as general corporate law, restructuring and due diligence investigations. She also has extensive experience in trust and company incorporation and other company secretarial and corporate governance issues. Her special interest is in renewable energy and she has assisted a number of wind and solar power projects in the Western Cape.
With an LLB degree from Stellenbosch University, Nicola commenced her legal career in January 2009 in the banking and finance department at ENSafrica, and thereafter ventured into corporate and commercial, during which time she was admitted as attorney in March 2011. She obtained extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions as well as related aspects of corporate restructuring in her three years as a practising attorney at ENSafrica.
Nicola added to her skill set and studied to become a qualified chartered secretary and member of the Chartered Secretaries Southern Africa (CSSA). She has also obtained a Certificate in Entertainment Law from the University of Cape Town.
Nicola has a passion for all things culinary and makes every effort to entertain or indulge in the gastronomic wonders that Cape Town and the surrounding winelands have to offer.
